Keeping to the graffiti theme for a moment, here is a fairly mindblowing animation composed of stills from numerous images painted on public walls by Blu.
Woah!
Crazy.

You may or may not have heard of this rather ingenius phenomenon – reverse graffiti. At any rate, I only came across it tonight. It’s hilariously ironic; the graffiti artist in fact cleans walls, rather than covers them in order to create a piece. The results are better than I’d have imagined. for example…

It helps to have a very dirty surface though. Which luckily most cities have in spades. I just find the idea delightful; it’s sort of like a large-scale equivalent of drawing in the car window condensation on frosty days. Not sure how illegal it is, but people have been prosecuted for it; yes, prosecuted for cleaning walls. As soon as you derive enjoyment from something, it becomes immoral.
Read on! This is where I stumbled upon it, courtesy of inhabitat.com.

Man oh man oh man! This dude, Todd Selby, takes photos of people (sometimes they are FAMOUS PEOPLE.) in their amazingly beautiful (and/or just plain cool) homes. But not in a lame way! Oh man I don’t know how to explain this. I love looking at nice stuff, if you like looking at nice stuff, maybe you should look at it too? Find it here. I particularly love Lesley Arfin’s, and the Cobrasnake’s!(When I saw his house, I immediately thought “Man I wanna drink beer and jump on a bed!” Perhaps this is strange? I’m thinking not.) (Once, I did a photography assignment on Mark Hunter, which consisted of spending hours and hours and hours looking at people at parties. It was unhealthy, to say the least. I wanna be him!)

I have been watching a whole heap of this guy:

(this was the least menacing photo I could find…)
He is a pretty clever dude. He does this mix of “psychological illusion, perceptual manipulation and persuasive technique” (according to his website), which basically means he lies. Really, really well. He does all these little tricks to influence and uh.. dupe? (I was trying to think of a word that isn’t trick…) people, which in some cases is funny, and in some cases is fairly fucking creepy.
FUNNY:
CREEPY:
There are more funny, and more creepy videos around, but hey. I am just far too fucking lazy.

Seven at home in moral pollution in Beijing
Basically this is an article from The Australian about Tibet, the Olympics and how much channel 7 sucks. There’s also a bit about how channel 7 refused to air (I say refused to, the ad was booked and then not aired at the last minute) an ad by GetUp urging the PM to raise the issue of Tibetan repression while he was in Beijing. What the hell, channel 7?
“You can understand fear promoting such behaviour in China where there is a totalitarian regime.
In a democracy, where freedom of speech is a given, Seven’s craven self-censoring efforts represent a gold-medal act of moral cowardice. “
Given my rage over the whole issue of China hosting the Olympics when it has such a shitty human rights record, I do have to concede that the couch protesters are really coming out of the woodwork… this year and last year wasn’t exactly the time to protest, I’d say eight years ago when it was announced, that was probably the time to protest (although I was only 8 and a half at the time…)! Anyway, my point is that the whole situation is shitty and 7 has just made a shitty situation shittier by this stupidly retarded self censoring. (That’s right, I said stupidly retarded! What are you gonna do about it?!)

I think Andrea would especially like this! A quiz where you match characters to Shakespearean plays they were in… I got 75% Theoretically, that could be an A. If there were grades for matching up characters to plays. Unfortunately, there aren’t! Find the quiz here.
